Canadian Money Design

Over the past decade, I’ve had the privilege of designing Canadian money, including gold and silver collectible coins that are treasured for their rarity and craftsmanship. In my work for the Royal Canadian Mint, I specialize in British Royal coins, decorative floral motifs, and Holiday-themed illustrations. Some of these coins feature my watercolor paintings, while others showcase delicate, exquisite details engraved from my ink and digital artwork.

  • $200 "Canadian Royal Crowns" (2024)

This gold coin features the new heraldic Canadian Royal Crown (right) alongside the traditional St. Edward’s Crown (left) that has been part of the Canada Coat of Arms since 1957. A historic headpiece, St. Edward’s Crown was used for crowning His Majesty during the coronation ceremony on May 6, 2023.

  • $200 "The Queen Elizabeth Rose" (2020)

Named in honour of Her Majesty, the sophisticated beauty of the 'Queen Elizabeth' rose inspired the coin's engraved artwork and its intricate flower, which is crafted in 3D from 18-karat rose gold to resemble one of Canada's most beloved roses.

  • $50 "Queen Elizabeth II’s Reign" (2022)

Queen Elizabeth II was the longest-reigning monarch in Canada’s modern history. This 5 oz. silver coin presents an elegant retrospective of her Canadian coin effigies, and each one captures a different era of her reign since 1953.

  • $3 "Celebration of Love" (2018)

Inspired by the "love lock" phenomenon, this design symbolizes an unbreakable bond. The heart-shaped padlock features an ornate, acanthus-inspired pattern, meticulously engraved, and the key is adorned with three Swarovski® crystals. Selective color enhances the design, with two ruby-red roses flanking the lock and key, adding depth to this universal symbol of love.

  • $3 "Celebration of Love" (2019)

Pure silver coin features a bouquet of roses that form a blooming heart. Each flower is selectively coloured to represent different expressions of love: yellow for friendship and gratitude; red for romance and passion; and orange for excitement and enthusiasm. Shaped like the infinity symbol, the ribbon symbolizes eternal love and is adorned with a Swarovski® crystal.

  • $3 "Celebration of Love" (2022)

The heart-shaped arrangement of selectively coloured flowers and engraved acanthus leaves forms a blooming symbol of love. Two larger blooms, a zinnia and apink daisy, are each adorned with a Swarovski® crystal to represent two souls brought together by friendship and love. Cosmos flowers symbolize the bonds that run deep, whether family or romantic. Forget-me-not stands for shared memories, while a gerbera daisy signifies admiration and the beauty of a happy life.

  • "Sparkle of the Heart" $20 Silver Coin (2020)

The Canadian diamond at the heart of this coin is a beautiful expression of a love that can survive adversity–like spring flowers that bloom even after the harshest winters.

  • $20 "Sparkle of the Heart" (2021)

The 2021 “Sparkle of the Heart” coin provides a spectacular touch of sparkle - a real diamond that dances with the slightest movement of its coin base. The dazzling centrepiece is nestled among the gold-plated stamens of the iris and peony flowers.

  • $20 "Sparkle of the Heart" (2022)

The rose gold plating adds a beautiful blushing hue to the 3D diamond cage and the floral arrangement that elegantly celebrates the return of spring.
